The Finnish Subsection of PsychoPsychical Physiotherapy arranged a national conference, to celebrate the professional development within mental health physiotherapy during 25 years.
The conference was held in Helsinki, Friday the 21st till Sunday the 23rd of September 2019. 110 Physiotherapists from whole Finland participated. Tanja Balk, the president of the subsection, opened the conference Friday lunch. The program was very interesting and the audience enthusiastic. Our colleague and Finnish BBAT teacher, Kirsti Niskala, was in the arrangement committee, as a board member in the subsection.
I was invited to the Conference, to held a lecture and two large workshops, were about 80 physiotherapists attended. On Monday the 24th, an extra, smaller worksop was arranged at a hospital in the city of Helsinki. Very many enthusiastic physiotherapists attended the presentations. both of theory and practice of BBAT. After teaching in Helsinki for 20 years, at Arcada Yrkeshøgskole and at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, these days were very motivating and memorable.
